Scope of the Works:

  • Dredging of approx. 4,000m3 at Maitlands Quay including disposal at sea.

 

  • Dredging of approx. 8,000m3 at Commercial Quay including disposal at sea. Dredge depth taken down to -7.5m CD with dredge material comprising sands, gravels and stiff clay.

 

  • Dredging of 4No x 30m long Trial Trenches in the Approach Channel to Aberdeen Harbour to determine nature of bed material; and extent of rock.

 

  • Dredging was carried out using a spudleg Barge with 95T Long Reach Excavator loading initially a 300m3 self propelled Hopper Barge followed by a 450m3 dumb-Hopper barge towed using a 34T Bollard Pull Tug.
