Scope of the Works:

  • Construction of 18No Jetties as extensions to the existing marina facility. Jetty construction had to be carried out using plant and equipment mounted on modular barge systems. This included a 30T excavator working from the barge for the installation of all temporary works, pitching and driving of piles using a combination of vibrating and impact piling hammers. Jetties comprised:-
    • Installation of temporary works constructed from a jack-up Bailey Frame supporting individual gates for each pile bent.
    • Supply and driving of 220No 7m long timber piles (225 x 225mm sq.) into boulder clay using an impact hammer.
    • Erection of associated timber framing, cladding and decking to jetties varying in length between 12.6m and 13.6m.
  • Installation of 2No Dia. 1050mm recirculation culverts through the existing breakwater.
  • Construction of 40m long slipway varying in width between 3m to 4m.
