Health & Safety

Ashleigh Contracts take a proactive approach to the health, safety and welfare of those involved or affected by their construction activities. We have a full time Health & Safety Officer / Plant Manager who, along with the company directors carries out regular reviews of company procedures and operations in respect of health and safety.

The company has undertaken the role of Principal Contractor under the Construction Design Management (2007) Regulations and as a subcontractor to main contractors on some of the larger marine contracts.

Third party accreditation was attained in 2006 for setting up, implementation and maintenance of a Health and Safety Management System by achieving Safe-T-Cert certification. This involves an annual external audit of the company’s policies and management systems – and as the company continues to grow and expand, these management structures and procedures are under constant review.

Full training of employees is undertaken to CSR standard and training records, aims and objectives are kept under review in management meetings.

Plant selection and methodology are priority in terms of health and safety for the safe and efficient construction of marine structures subject to tidal and weather-related conditions. The extensive fleet of plant and equipment available within the company fleet are testament to the many years of experience gained in working on a variety of marine related contracts in an effort to maximise the safety of all those involved.
