Contract Award - Seabed Protection Repairs, D1 Belfast Harbour

Ashleigh Contracts were awarded a contract by Dong Energy UK in November 2015 to carry our seabed repairs to scour protection stone on the D1 Berth in Belfast Harbour.

The D1 Berth is used to service the offshore wind industry and large jack-up vessels are brought alongside to carry out heavy lifting operations to and from the shore - these components including all components required in the construciton of offshore windfarms.

Ashleigh Contracts have been tasked with repairs to the original seabed protection, whereby depressions had formed from by the high localised loadings imnposed by the bases of the heavy jack-up vessels as they were lifted clear of water level to carry out the heavy-lift operations.

Repairs to the 14No seabed depressions of 1m to 2m depths at seabed levels of -9.5m to -10.7m CD will comprise the removal of any accumulated silt and the infilling of all depression using 13kg to 27kg graded stone material.
